Professional Experience

2021-2023

Founder & CEO - GoodPaw

Founded in March of 2021, GoodPaw was not just another business venture for Lee; it was a groundbreaking initiative that revolutionized the pet insurance industry. Expanding quickly, GoodPaw became the first pet insurance brokerage to operate on both sides of the border, initially spreading across 7 Canadian provinces and eventually reaching all 50 states in the U.S.

Lee's leadership guided the company through rapid growth and capital-raising. GoodPaw broke new ground, intermediating as a broker in an industry that was primarily direct to consumer. GoodPaw's expansion was a testament to Lee's innovation, agility, and determination.

This experience with GoodPaw further showcases Lee's ability to see beyond the ordinary, to create and seize opportunities, and to navigate complex and evolving landscapes. His time at GoodPaw adds a unique layer to his multifaceted experience, enriching his perspective and enhancing his ability to support and guide business owners through the nuanced challenges and opportunities they face.

2014-2021

VP Business Development -Lendesk

Lee's journey with Lendesk began at its inception, joining the company as their third employee in August of 2014. This role offered Lee a chance to help shape an organization from the ground up. During his tenure at Lendesk, he was instrumental in building many core departments of the company, including operations, marketing, sales, human resources, corporate governance, and corporate development.

Lendesk developed an industry-leading software tool for the mortgage industry and Lee was the tip of the spear for all external enterprise sales activity. He was successful in establishing contracts with 4 of the big 5 banks in Canada and helped to build an integrated network of over 100 financial institutions, the largest in the country, setting a new benchmark in innovation and collaboration.

Lee's leadership at Lendesk was marked by a blend of strategic thinking, hands-on management, and a boatload of perseverance. His contributions extended to the larger business landscape and he worked closely on the acquisition of Lendesk by Quicken Loans, the largest mortgage company in the United States.

2014-2017

Co-Founder - Stamps & Sons

Lee and his co-founders launched Stamps & Sons in May of 2014, during a long weekend trip to Tofino. The company specialized in crafting custom rubber stamps and strategically leveraged a "Made in America" ethos after establishing manufacturing in Massachusetts.

Embracing innovation, Stamps & Sons essentially pioneered drop shipping before it was a mainstream concept, reimagining the distribution model for its unique product line.

Under Lee's guidance, the company developed proprietary technology that enabled customers to upload images and create personalized stamps with ease. This technology, combined with strategic online distribution channels, set Stamps & Sons apart in the marketplace.

Through diligent efforts and foresight, the company expanded across various online channels, leading to its eventual sale in November of 2017. However, Stamps & Sons' legacy lives on today, still flourishing under new ownership and standing as a testament to the vision, craftsmanship, and innovative spirit that Lee brought to life.
